The Lovers

British comedy starring Richard Beckinsale and Paula Wilcox as a pair of young lovers struggling to find happiness in 1970s Manchester. The primary area of conflict between Geoffrey Scrimshaw (Beckinsale) and Beryl Battersby (Wilcox) regards sex, which Geoffrey is keen to try and Beryl, who has been brought up with strict, old-fashioned values, recoils from.
