Origination Trilogy - Earth Phase

There is a period in human evolution in which the normal course of mutations no longer controlled the development of the human species. This is the story of that Era. Although it had become a commonly accepted concept that the future of mankind was off the planet, it took the single minded dedication of one person to completely change the course of the history of life on Earth. To ensure its future existence the species is re-engineered in preparation for its exodus. There is only one solution; to migrate out of the physical body into a digital existence. As an interim step Technically Engineered Individuals, Tengi, were developed by Lai-Xii and her Company. Her experimental city population became people with biological computerised implants and body parts, which led that technology to an ultimate dead end.

A human brain sustained and augmented by bio-mechanical components created more problems than solutions. However, the advent of sophisticated quantum computing paved the way for the next logical development. The crux of the plan was to speed up evolution to the point where the minimum amount of data was required to digitise the human brain and the mind that dwelt within it.

Virtual Reality constructs through Social Media entertainment became the ideal acclimatisation tools to prepare humanity's launch into space and onto a Jovian moon, to a computer installation on Europa.
