This collection brings together much of the music that so entranced audiences on the film’s release. One of the reasons why The Last Picture Show had an immediate impact was the skilful integration of contemporary songs on the soundtrack. It is to the filmmakers’ great credit that they decided to fill the soundtrack with the songs you hear on these 2CDs rather than relying on a new score.
